Summary:

This article deals with role formation and activities of one of the entities of international law in the area of international security. Using Slovakia as an example, the author of this article points out that the international security represents particularly important, though fragile area of cooperation among the states, within which international organizations play increasingly important role. The author demonstrates the attitude of various states on current examples, whereas it has to be borne in mind that the whole security system depends on the will of these actors.
